About CBD Tinctures
CBD tinctures, also called CBD oils or CBD drops, are a liquid form of CBD extract. CBD tinctures are taken by mouth and can be taken alone or placed in your favorite food or beverage. Tinctures are one of the most popular ways to take CBD, as they’re easy to use, they can be taken in numerous ways, and they’re highly effective. Tinctures also have a fast bioavailability, which means they’re absorbed by the body quickly.

CBD Tinctures FAQ
How do I take a CBD tincture or CBD oil?
To take a CBD tincture, follow the directions on the tincture’s label. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) provides no specific guidelines on how much CBD any individual should take. Generally, we would recommend that you start with a smaller dose, then slowly increase your dosage until you find your perfect dosage.
Many people prefer to take CBD oils sublingually, which means they use their tincture’s dropper to place their oil under their tongue, then hold the tincture under their tongue for a brief period (often around 60 seconds) before swallowing it. There are numerous small blood vessels underneath the tongue, which can help products absorb into the blood stream more quickly and efficiently.
What is CBD?
CBD is an abbreviation for cannabinol, a chemical compound that naturally occurs in cannabis plants, such as the hemp plant. Cannabis plants contain numerous cannabinoids and CBD is one of them. CBD is not to be confused with THC, the cannabinoid that causes a psychoactive effect. CBD does not produce a psychoactive effect, but instead influences the body to use its own endocannabinoids within the body’s endocannabinoid system more effectively.
Which CBD tincture should I get?
The CBD tincture you may prefer will depend on your unique needs. We offer multiple tinctures from multiple brands for your convenience. Browse the products page to find CBD oils with varying strengths, ingredients, and flavors, including unflavored CBD oils. We offer some tinctures with additional herbal ingredients, like MCT oil and terpenes, as well as tinctures that are vegan, non-GMO, and gluten free. If you’re searching for a particular type of CBD, such as full spectrum CBD oil or a CBD oil with no coconut oil, we recommend browsing our products individually and inspecting the ingredients. Always check the ingredients of each individual tincture before trying it to ensure it fits your desires and dietary needs.
Is CBD oil the same thing as hemp oil?
While many CBD oils derive their CBD from hemp (these may be called “CBD hemp oils” or “hemp CBD oils”), CBD oil is not the same thing as hemp oil, which may contain only hemp extract rather than concentrated CBD extract. CBD oils generally contain higher amounts of CBD than hemp oil, which usually contain a very low level of cannabinoids.
What are the health benefits of CBD? Will it give pain relief, help with sleep, help with inflammation, or help anxiety?
According to FDA guidelines, we cannot make any claims about the health benefits of CBD. More research is needed to determine CBD’s effect on a person’s well-being, including its effect on pain relief, sleep, and anxiety, and whether or not it has anti-inflammatory properties.
Do CBD tinctures have side effects?
CBD tinctures are safe and non-toxic. CBD tinctures generally have no adverse side effects, even when taken in high doses. It’s always a good idea to consult your medical practitioner before trying any new supplements, including ones that contain CBD. CBD is safe and non-toxic but it can sometimes interact with certain prescription medications for certain medical conditions.
